Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions:

Can I book backcountry guiding with you?

We provide guides to tour companies, not directly to the public. You will need to book through one of our partners like The Powder Project.

Do your instructors speak English?

Yes! Our instructors are native English speakers (albeit with Australian and Kiwi accents).

Are your instructors qualified?

Yes. We only use guides who are qualified through a guiding association that is recognised by the IFMGA.

Do you provide transport?

We provide guides with vehicles. Your clients can use their own transport, transport that you arrange through your tour, or our guides can provide complimentary transport in our vehicles.

What is your maximum group size?

Our safety management system limits our groups to five clients per guide. We can take larger groups by having multiple guides with the group, but in general we recommend limiting your group to 5 people to allow for efficient movement and instruction in the backcountry.

Where do you operate?

We offer instruction services in Central Hokkaido, generally around and north of Asahikawa. We do not offer services in or near Niseko, Otaru, or Furano as these areas are too busy to provide the high standard of guest experience that we pride ourselves on.

I’m a tour operator. How do I partner with you to add backcountry snowsports instruction to my tours?

We are at maximum capacity with The Powder Project for 2026 and are unable to offer instruction for other tour companies this season. Please contact us if you are interested in partnering for 2027 or beyond.
